What's going on all? Amy and Daniel here. We wanted to tell everyone personally how Adaptive Action Sports came to be. We met in 2002 at Crested Butte Mountain Ski Resort. Amy was on a adaptive snowboard workshop and I was living there. Right away we knew we had different kind of connection, a connection in snowboarding, music, and art.

In 2003 we decided to take our connection and relationship to the next level. Everyday that we were together we realized how closely tied our passions about life were. A passion we discovered we both shared, still share, is the idea that we want to leave a positive mark in life. We also knew that whatever it was that we set out to do, it would be important to help others along the way.

You guys should know that Amy is really the inspiration for this wonderful collaboration and, if you don’t know, you need to read her story. Check out her bio by clicking Amy's bio above. With Amy’s history, my experience in the recreation field and a love for “Action Sports” that we both shared we could see something taking shape, but what?

When Amy first lost her legs she knew she would be active again she just wasn’t sure how or when. For her it was a struggle obtaining information on how to go about snowboarding and wakeboarding again. We saw a niche that needed to be filled, a niche that we were both knowledgeable in and passionate about. We wanted to create something, a place, a forum, an organization that would enable individuals to find and participate in their passions without a struggle. Adaptive Action Sports was born.

We welcome everyone to add to this growing community of athletes, artists, and musicians in any way you can. We can’t wait to meet each of you at one of our events or fundraisers. If your anxious to talk sooner check out our contact link and we’ll respond as soon as we can.  Later for now,

Amy and Daniel
